Sophie and the Rainbow Bridge
Beginner · ≈ 1 min story · 1 min read
Sophie's grandmother likes to tell her that fairies travel on a rainbow bridge between the earth and the sky, but Sophie thinks it is just a fairy tale. One spring morning after the rain, a bright rainbow appears over the garden. Sophie steps onto it and climbs until she feels she could touch the clouds. She slides back down and runs to tell Grandma, who hugs her and reminds her that fairy tales can feel true when you believe in a little magic.
Sophie’s grandmother often told her, “Fairies travel on a rainbow bridge that connects the earth and the sky.” Sophie would smile. “Grandma, that sounds like a fairy tale!” One spring morning, Sophie went into the garden just after the rain had stopped. Birds were singing, butterflies fluttered around, and warm sunlight peeked through the clouds.
Then Sophie saw something amazing. Tiny drops of color seemed to join together in the sky, forming a bright rainbow. Sophie walked closer. The rainbow looked almost like a real bridge. She placed one foot on it... then another. Soon, Sophie was climbing higher and higher until she felt as if she could touch the clouds.
Then she slid gently down the other side and ran straight to her grandmother.
“Grandma!” she whispered. “I climbed the rainbow bridge!”
Her grandmother hugged her and smiled. “See, darling? Sometimes fairy tales feel true when you believe in a little magic.”
