1. What Information Do We Collect?

Personal information you disclose to us

We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information we collect may include the following:

We do not collect an email address or password. The app signs you in anonymously — no credentials are required from you.

Voice Data — Special Notice

NinniTalesis a personalized bedtime story app that uses your voice (or a parent/guardian's voice) to narrate human-authored stories from our catalog. To provide this feature, we collect and process voice recordings. Please read this section carefully.

What we collect: When you use the voice personalization feature, we collect the audio recording of your voice that you provide within the app.

How it is used:Your voice recording is transmitted securely to our AI voice processing provider, which uses it to create a voice profile. When a story plays, the story text — which may include your child's first name — is sent to that provider to produce audio in your voice. No raw recording is transmitted during playback. The provider processes this data solely on our behalf under a data processing agreement and is not permitted to use your voice or your child's name for any other purpose.

What we do not do: We do not sell, share, or use your voice data for any purpose other than narrating stories within Ninni Tales.

Consent:Use of the voice personalization feature is entirely optional and requires your explicit consent. You may withdraw consent and delete your voice data at any time through the app's Settings.

Deletion: You can delete your voice profile and all associated voice data at any time by going to Settings within the app. Upon deletion, we will instruct our AI voice processing provider to delete your voice profile from their systems.

Biometric data notice: In certain jurisdictions (including Illinois, Texas, Washington State, and others), voice data used for identification or to create a voice model may be classified as biometric information and subject to special legal protections. We obtain your explicit consent before collecting voice data, and we do not use voice data for identification purposes.

Sensitive Information. We treat voice recordings as sensitive personal data and process them only with your explicit consent, as described above.

Payment & Subscription Data.To manage in-app purchases and subscriptions we use a third-party subscription management provider. When you make a purchase, that provider receives: your app-store purchase receipt, an anonymous user ID, your device identifier (iOS Vendor ID or equivalent Android identifier), and transaction history needed to validate and restore your subscription. We do not use advertising identifiers and have no install attribution. Your voice data, your child's name, and your payment-card details are never shared with this provider — card details are handled directly by Apple or Google.

Analytics Data.We use a third-party analytics provider to understand how the app is used. It collects: in-app events (e.g. story played, voice feature activated), device type, operating system and version, app version, a pseudonymous device identifier, and an approximate country-level location derived from your IP address. We do not send this provider your voice recordings, your child's name, or payment data. No session recordings are made.

Account & Data Storage. Your data is stored on our cloud infrastructure provider. Because the app uses anonymous sign-in, no email address or password is stored. What is stored on your behalf:

Our cloud infrastructure provider processes this data solely to provide the storage service on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes.

Application Data. If you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission:

This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application(s), for troubleshooting, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Information automatically collected

Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information.

The information we collect includes:

2. How Do We Process Your Information?

We process your personal information for the following purposes:

3. What Legal Bases Do We Rely On to Process Your Information?

We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law.

If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.

The GDPR and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on:

If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you.

We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (express consent) or where your permission can be inferred (implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time. In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted to process your information without your consent, including for investigations and fraud detection, for business transactions provided certain conditions are met, or if the information is publicly available and specified by the regulations.

If you are located in India, this section applies to you.

We process your personal data in compliance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA). We rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing your personal data, including voice recordings, your child's first name, and usage analytics. You have the right to: (i) access a summary of your personal data we hold; (ii) correct inaccurate or incomplete data; (iii) erase your personal data (subject to our legal obligations); (iv) nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity; and (v) withdraw consent at any time, after which we will stop processing your data for that purpose. To exercise these rights or to raise a grievance, contact our Grievance Officer at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and respond within 30 days. Our data processors (AI voice processing, cloud infrastructure, analytics, and subscription management providers) operate outside India; by using the app you consent to this cross-border transfer. A full list of processors is available on request at [email protected].

4. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?

We may share information in specific situations and with specific third parties.

We may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

We have not disclosed, sold, or shared any personal information to third parties for advertising or commercial purposes, and we will not do so in the future.

A complete list of our data processors is available on request at [email protected].

5. Do We Use Artificial Intelligence?

We use AI for voice personalization only. Stories are written by humans, not generated by AI.

The NinniTales story catalog is entirely human-authored. No AI model generates or modifies story content.

AI is used exclusively for voice personalization:

Your voice data is never used to train any AI model without your separate, explicit consent given directly to the provider. You may delete your voice profile at any time through Settings → Delete Voice Clone and Data.

6. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice. No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us.

Voice data retention: Your voice profile and recordings are retained only for as long as you have an active account and have not requested deletion. You may delete your voice data at any time via Settings, after which we will instruct our AI voice processing provider to delete your voice profile from their systems within a reasonable timeframe.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible, securely store it and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

7. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process, including encryption of voice data in transit and at rest. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

8. Do We Collect Information from Minors?

We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK).

NinniTales is a bedtime story app designed to be used by parents and guardians for and with their children. The app is intended for use by adults (parents or guardians aged 18 or over), not directly by children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The voice personalization feature is intended for a parent's or guardian's voice — not a child's voice. We do not knowingly record or process the voice of a child.

By using the Services and the voice personalization feature, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and that any voice recording you provide is your own voice as a parent or guardian.

If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, or that a child's voice has been recorded through the app, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will take steps to delete such information promptly.

COPPA Notice (US users): We do not direct our Services to children under 13 and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

9. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

Depending on your location, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information.

In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right to: (i) request access and obtain a copy of your personal information; (ii) request rectification or erasure; (iii) restrict the processing of your personal information; (iv) data portability; and (v) not to be subject to automated decision-making. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information.

Right to withdraw consent for voice processing:You have the specific right to withdraw your consent to voice data processing at any time by deleting your voice clone in the app's Settings or by contacting us at [email protected]. Withdrawing consent will not affect story access, but the voice personalization feature will no longer be available.

If you are located in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or UK data protection authority.

If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Account Information

To review, change, or delete your account information and voice data, you can go to Settings within the app and select Delete Voice Clone and Data.

Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms, or comply with applicable legal requirements.

If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at [email protected].

10. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.

11. Do United States Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have specific privacy rights.
