One day, a kind woman named Mia received a magical lamp from an old hermit. When she rubbed it, a genie appeared. “I am your servant. Give me work to do! If I have nothing to do, I may cause trouble.” Mia quickly asked him to harvest her crops. In moments, the work was done.
Then she said, “Bring water from the well.” Whoosh! The genie finished that too. Mia thought carefully. Finally, she pointed to her dog and said, “Straighten his curly tail.” The genie tried again and again, but every time he let go, the tail curled back. Days passed. At last, the tired genie sighed.
“I cannot do it. I am sorry.” Mia forgave him, and from then on, they lived peacefully as friends.
