One day, a cat and a fox were sitting under a tree. They were chatting about this and that. Soon, they began talking about how they avoided danger. The fox puffed out his chest proudly. “I know so many ways to escape from danger!” “I can run very fast. I can hide behind bushes. I can even hide inside a burrow!”
The cat listened quietly. “I only know one trick to escape from danger.” The fox laughed. “Only one? You need many tricks to stay safe!” The cat said nothing. Suddenly... They heard a frightening sound. “Woof! Woof! Woof!” A pack of dogs was running toward them! The cat became frightened. “Dogs!” She quickly climbed up the tree. The fox ran as fast as he could.
“Maybe I can hide behind the bushes!” He ran behind some bushes. But the dogs were getting closer. “Quick! I need another trick!” The fox ran again. He found a burrow and quickly hid inside. But the dogs found him there too. “Oh no!” The dogs caught the fox. The cat watched helplessly from the tree. The fox had tried many different tricks... but none of them had saved him.
The cat's one simple trick had saved her life. She stayed safely on the tree until the dogs finally went away. The forest became quiet again. The cat climbed down slowly. She looked toward the burrow. “Sometimes, one good plan is better than many plans.” But deep inside that same forest... something else was hiding.
Not a fox. Not a cat. A mysterious little creature who had a very special secret. And that secret was so important... that no one was allowed to know his name. Who was he? And what would happen if someone discovered his secret? The answer was waiting deep in the forest... moral: Having many ideas is not always better. We should stay calm, think carefully, and use the right plan when we face danger.
